Making My Back Catalog of Books Free

A few weeks ago I made the decision to remove my back catalog of published books from Amazon. This is in protest of Jeff Bezos and Amazon's horrific treatment of its workers. I do not want to give Bezos another penny of my money. And the sad fact of having your work sold through Amazon is that for every $15 book that is sold I maybe saw between 50 cents and a dollar. That's it. The rest, right into the billionaire's pocket.

Now, you're probably wondering why I don't just print them myself and sell the paperbacks through my site. Well, the truth is that printing on paper has become extremely costly and shipping, both from whatever printer I use to me, and shipping the books back out to customers would be more than the cost of the book itself. I can't in good conscience ask my readers to pay $20 in shipping on a $15 book. I want people to read my work and enjoy it and that shouldn't be a luxury, especially in a time when we all need a good escape from the horrors of reality.

So, I have made many of my titles free PDF downloads on the Books page of this site. There is, if you can afford it, a Venmo QR code on the page, if you feel like tossing a few ducats my general direction. But it is not necessary. Just share my work with people you know and enjoy the stories. That makes me happy enough.
