My Favorite Time of Year!

I realized this morning that while I have been keeping everything else social media-wise up to date lately, this blog has fallen a bit to the wayside. This summer went by in a blur and I woke up to the realization that this is the last day of September and I have barely even begun to decorate for Halloween! What is wrong with me? I should have my goth card taken away... But seriously. Where has the year gone?
That said, as I stare at the witchy calendar hanging above my desk, I realize that this month is going to be an insanely busy one! And I couldn't be more thrilled! To kick things off I'll be teaming up with Gotham Ghostwriters this month on a series of original short horror stories, written of course by yours truly, which I will be releasing via social media over the next few weeks. You can follow my stories, along with several other authors' work using hashtag #ScaryStories on Twitter. I will be posting a calendar of when these stories will be released as soon as I have it available in the next few days...
In a couple of weeks I'll be jetting off to Denver for Colorado's biggest sci fi and fantasy literary convention MileHi Con where I'll be speaking on a variety of panels over the course of four days. I've never been to Denver, unless you count a layover once in the airport. And I doubt I'm going to know a single soul at this convention. So, if you know me through social media or have read some of my work, please say "hello"!
While I'm there I'll also be wrapping up my coursework for my Restaurant Management Certification through Cornell University. This is a personal and professional achievement I'm quite proud of committing to and look forward to celebrating when I return later this month. But I won't have long to party because pretty much the next day I'll be heading down to Houston, Texas to audition for... drum roll... MasterChef Season 11!!!! That's right folks, I threw my proverbial culinary #homechef hat into the ring a couple of months ago and got an email inviting me to the open auditions at the end of October. Not exactly sure what I'm getting myself into, but needless to say I'm both chattering with excitement and wracked with anxiety. I've yet to figure out what dish I'll be presenting to the judges, but I'll keep you all posted on that progress the closer we get to the audition day.
So, as you can see, it's going to be a very busy spooky season for me so be sure to follow me on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and of course, here for more updates and pics. Thank you for all of your continued support!
