From MileHiCon to MasterChef Auditions
Home again, home again to Austin. MileHi Con was wonderful and I want to thank the programmers for allowing me to participated in their wonderful little convention this year.
I know people are asking for more photos, but honestly there wasn't much for me to photograph. I didn't know anyone there so there weren't any selfies with friends and for the most part it was just authors sitting on panels. And after doing a little exploring on social media apparently no one else at the convention took any photos or, at least aren't tagging them so they can be found. LOL! I suppose people were ACTUALLY living in the moment. In fact, come to think of it, I rarely saw anyone with their phones out this weekend. Everyone was simply there experiencing the event and not worrying about what they were going to post on Twitter. I like it. Go geeks! The next convention I have lined up is Texas Frightmare Weekend in May, so you'll have more than enough convention eye candy then. ;)
The past few days were extremely productive from a writing standpoint as well. I started work again on my new novel, which I had set down for a while out of frustration. Sometimes you just have to walk away from a project for a while before you figure out a new angle to approach it. I'm going to do my best to keep up the momentum on that project while I finish up my #ScaryStories series for Gotham Ghostwriters this month. My last story I believe goes live on either the 27th or 28th on Twitter... I'm waiting for confirmation on that.

So, I'm back in A-Town for the next two days. Then it's off to Houston for a few days for my MasterChef audition! I'll be prepping for it and final testing recipes on Friday. Then Saturday is the big day. Still waiting for them to call me with the last details -- they said they would be calling a few days in advance to go over specifics. The past month I have really been psyching myself out and placing way too much stress on coming up with something so over the top and out of the box. Then last week I realized I just need to cook from the heart. So I did a 180 and have a whole new and far less complicated direction, but one I think the judges will thoroughly enjoy.
This has been one whirlwind of a month and I can't wait to see how it all wraps up! Wish me luck!
Cheers!
