Remember Your Choice

Like millions of people around the world, I am still reeling from Tuesday's election results. Words are difficult for me right now as I lean from numb to completely distraught and terrified. I came across this post by my friend Logan South today which I feel sums it up so eloquently though...

"If you voted for Donald Trump I'm not going to waste any more time telling you how I feel about that choice, if you know me you can probably figure that out already. What I am going to say is this...

Remember your choice when they make your coworker wear a religious I.D. badge.

Remember your choice when the wall of division goes up.

Remember your choice when we loose our allies.

Remember your choice when they come for your neighbor in the night.

Remember your choice when your gay friends are told their marriage no longer matters.

Remember your choice when your daughter's rapist goes free.

Remember your choice when you hear the words "Nuclear War" as if for the first time.

Remember your choice when you smell the books begin to smoke.

Remember your choice when saying "God bless America" is no longer optional.

Remember your choice when the parades and marches start.

Remember your choice every time they say, "It's to protect our country".

Remember your choice when you see them dragged by chains from the back of a truck.

Remember your choice when you first start to worry if anyone will think you're a sympathizer.

Remember your choice when a child asks you to hide them.

Remember your choice as you count the dead.

Remember your choice when you can't remember what freedom felt like.

Remember your choice..."
