Top bewitching witches and warlocks
Vampires aren’t the only ones in Hollywood with the monopoly on sex appeal. While perhaps not quite as an intricate part of current pop culture, witches and warlocks have given the supernatural world a run for its money in the mysteriously sensual department. You have to admit that there is simply something incredibly intriguing about a person who has the power to cast a spell on you, especially when it’s one of the following famous individuals.
Alexandra Medford, Jane Spofford, Sukie Ridgemont – Witches of Eastwick
When the Devil, played by the one and only Jack Nicholson, arrives in a small New England town three unhappy and unsuspecting housewives, played by Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer, are transformed into a powerful coven of witches soon to be his brides. As they throw off the social constraints of their boring, tame life and embrace their wilder sensual sides, these three witches become prove just how dangerously sexy magic can be!
Pogue Parry – The Covenant
Before he was Gambit in Wolverine, Taylor Kitsch played the part of a mischievous teenage warlock in the supernatural thriller The Covenant. Kitsch has a special way of always playing the perfect bad boy and in this case, one that can, literally, make you levitate! Hot!
The Halliwell Sisters, Phoebe, Paige & Piper – Charmed
The Halliwell Sisters of San Francisco are three of the hottest witches to ever grace television. Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan are each, in their own way, perfectly sexy and together the trio successfully made witches and witchcraft common household terms.
Gillian 'Gil' Holroyd – Bell Book and Candle
The epitome of a tall blond drink of water, Kim Novak embodies bewitching magical sensuality in the 1958 classic Bell Book and Candle. A classic, timeless beauty, this is one enchanting witch who is definitely hard to resist, spell or no.
Willow – Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Willow is definitely a cutie of the witch world with her quirky smile and red hair. With a grounded girl-next-door charm and adorable comedic timing Alyson Hannigan is the epitome of the sweet and sexy bookworm and modern day witch.
Harry Potter – Harry Potter
Now that Daniel Radcliffe has come of age and made a foray into the rather revealing lead role of the Broadway performance of Equis, I feel safe in my decision to include him amongst our hot witches and warlocks.
Bellatrix Lestrange – Harry Potter
If you prefer your witches hell-bent and completely devoid of any ounce of insanity, Helena Bonham Carter’s performance as Bellatrix Lestrange might be your idea of perfection. Despite her maniacal psychosis in this movie, Carter is consistently beautiful in that otherworldly, elfin gothic way that makes her completely irresistible.
Bonnie – The Craft
What isn’t there to find sexy about Neve Campbell? While her acting chops might not win any Oscars any time soon, with silky dark hair and luscious lips, she’s a definite bombshell and one sexy witch!
Katia Vajda – Black Sunday (La maschera del demonio)
Barbara Steele possesses an absolute otherworldly quality to her svelte beauty as the persecuted witch Katia Vajda in the 1960’s classic horror film Black Sunday. With her luminous dark eyes and hourglass physique, though her character is in league with the Devil, she is still one siren of the magical arts that would make the most steel-hearted individual swoon.
Queen Mab – Merlin
Another perfectly insane magical maven of cinema is the character Queen Mab in the television series Merlin. Performed by the intensely talented actress Miranda Richardson, Queen Mab is seductively dark, divine and utterly ruthless in a manner only befitting of the Queen of the Old Ways.
Warlock – Warlock
Exquisitely handsome and utterly heartless in his solid black attire and long blond hair Julian Sands’ portrayal of the centuries-old warlock in the original Warlock movie is dangerously sexy. This 1980’s cult-favorite helped to make Julian Sands a household name and the concept of the evil warlock a modern sex symbol.
White Witch – The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Ethereal and mysterious, the White Witch, played by Tilda Swinton in The Chronicles of Narnia, is a primal force to be reckoned with. More otherworldly than sexy in an earthly way, the Swinton’s slender, exotic features and frame meld perfectly with the magical landscape around her. Memorable does not even begin to describe her.
