Another bloody Monday…

September 22nd, 2008 by admin received 1 Comment »

Well, it’s back to the grindstone after a whirlwind of a weekend down in merry old Ike-ravaged Houston! I first would like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone who turned out for the event at Numbers nightclub Saturday night. Though Numbers had electricity, the majority of the surrounding neighborhoods was still in a blackout state. Nonetheless, a nice little crowd of devoted goths showed up to help share the evening with Voltaire and I, making for one very special evening! I am still absorbing the fact that I was able to read from ETERNAL VIGILANCE on a rather famous stage where The Cure and Nine Inch Nails, not to mention countless other icons, at one time performed! What a feeling, to be part of the Numbers history! And history is truly what was made Saturday night with the combination of a literary reading and musical performance by Voltaire. Marc Moorash of Seraphemera Books was right on the money with his vision for the event and I am honored to have had the chance to be a part of it! I look forward to collaborating with Marc more in the future. And if ever the opportunity arises to work with Voltaire again I would love to work with him again. Not only is he a bloody brilliant musician, but a very cool guy to hang with with a twisted sense of humor I truly appreciate. If you’ve never heard Voltaire’s music, definitely check him out! Marc filmed most of the Numbers event so, perhaps I will have a video to post for your viewing pleasure sometime in the near future. Also, asides from the photos I posted last night, which you can view in the previous post, a professional photographer was present at Numbers so hopefully I will also be able to share those photos as well. Keep your fingers crossed. ;)

So, what now, you might be asking? Well, for the next couple of weeks I’ll be working hard to finish the first-pass read-through of EV2 so that I can hand that off to Storm and Fiona at Immanion Press, as well as two book cover illustrations for the Ladies of Horror and Gentlemen of Horror anthologies. After that, on October 3rd through the 5th, it’s off to FenCon in Dallas! I’m truly looking forward to this con as it will be the first time I have attended it. I have heard very good things about FenCon so I am hoping it lives up to the enthusiastically positive reviews from conventioneers. After FenCon, it’s off to New Orleans on the 29th of October! I have two events scheduled for the New Orleans trip: a book signing/wine tasting event at Boutique du Vampyre in the French Quarter on October 30th and the Anne Rice Vampire Ball on Halloween Night, where I am to be the Guest of Honor for the evening! After the chaos of September I am looking forward with great anticipation to October. ;) After New Orleans, my next scheduled appearance isn’t until December 12th in San Antonio at The Twig Book Shop. However, I have already begun lining up convention appearances for 2009 including Texas Frightmare Weekend and ConDFW III. These are the two that I have already registered for. However, I have KillerCon in Las Vegas and the British Fantasy Awards on my list as well. I also plan on heading out to Los Angles in June of 2009 for the Bram Stoker Awards weekend. Needless to say, 2009 is going to be one hell of a year!

Thank you, again, to everyone for the support with this past weekend’s event!!!!

Bites & Kisses,
Gabrielle S. Faust
