Batfest 2008
August 26th, 2008 by admin received No Comments »Fourth Annual Austin Batfest!
Aug 30-31st
South First Street Bridge
Batfest will feature arts, crafts, music, food, bat-watching, children’s activities, and educational displays. Estimated attendance is around 40,000, with the scenic backdrop of Lady Bird Lake and downtown Austin. Come out and see between 1.5 and 2 million Mexican free-tailed bats while shopping for creative items made in Austin. See over 30 bands on two stages. Best of all, admission is only $5! What else can you do for just $5 these days that includes so much and benefits bats?!
All professional artists and craftspeople are invited to participate in Batfest. Approximately 150 booths will be set up in the festival area located on the South First Street Bridge in downtown Austin. The booths will feature arts & crafts such as pottery, jewelry, fine art, woodwork, stained glass, metal sculpture, mosaics, dicrylic, photography, and much more. This area is well-know for its eclectic night life (no joke intended), as well as it’s proximity to downtown and to the more relaxed South Austin (78704 to those who know).
