The Voltaire birthday jig…

I always say the best way to start out one’s birthday, as I am doing today, is with a strong cup of coffee and a good ol’ fashioned Voltaire gig. So, raise your mugs (mine is my favorite one from Las Vegas today) and turn up the speakers to dance with the bats & I as we listen to “Happy Birthday, My Ole Friende” by Voltaire…



Now…birthday gig aside, I’m feeling rather contemplative this morning. Contemplative and blessed. The past year has been an absolute rollercoaster ride of extreme highs and lows. Those that are closet to me know exactly what I’m talking about. However, as the *cough* year of my existence has come full circle, I have found myself feeling as if the planets are finally aligning for me. Once again I am feeling as if absolutely anything is possible and I am fully ready to stand on the back of the dragon and charge screaming into the fray like a Viking warrior! That is possibly my greatest strength and, at times, my greatest weakness: I simply do not know how to give up. “Game over” is not in my vocabulary and my personal motto is “failure is not an option”. I’m a Taurus and if there’s one thing we’re known for it’s our stubborn tenacity when we are fixated on something we want. Sometimes it is a little exhausting, but it is always exciting. Life is simply too sweet and too short not to be savored each and every day. No matter where I am or what life throws in my path, I love life. Absolutely J’adore it! I have beautiful friends, gorgeous fans, 6 books under my belt, 2 book tours completed & another on the way, a brilliant new manager, an unbelievably supportive, if certifiably crazy, mother and enough passion for my art and writing to illuminate the sun itself. It simply doesn’t get any better than that. Is the road ahead still a hard one complete with a Mt. Everest climb? Absolutely, but just imagine what the view will be from the top! *raises Viva Las Vegas coffee mug and turns up the Voltaire* So, here’s to embracing another year on earth and to always doing what you love because if you’re not, you’re not truly living!
