Suburban Vampire’s “Vampire Oscar Party”
February 28th, 2010 by Gabrielle Faust received No Comments »I share in Suburban Vampire’s irritation at the lack of nods to vampire films during Oscar season. Too many films are dismissed by the Oscar committee simply for the fact that they feature the undead. This is not to say that there were a lot of Oscar-worthy vampire films released in 2009. Some of them are down-right laughable. However, we authors and critics of the genre would still like to recognize those directors who have hopped on the bloodsucking hayride with cross and holy water in hand! Suburban Vampire has posted a poll where you can vote for your favorite vampire film of 2009. Click here to cast your vote. Currently she has listed Thirst, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, The Vampire’s Assistant, Lesbian Vampire Killers, Blood: The Last Vampire, Transylmania and Twilight: New Moon. However, you can also enter an unlisted title in the “Other” category if you feel there is a film that she missed. The winners will be announced on Monday, March 8th.
