Texas Frightmare Weekend Film Festival 2010

February 8th, 2010 by admin received No Comments »

Texas Frightmare Weekend has extended the film festival portion of its fifth anniversary horror convention by two additional days of frightful features and short films, including George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead.

TFW Film Festival 2010 will kick off Wednesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 29 at the Studio Movie Grill in Lewisville. The festival will then move to the convention site Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Irving.

“We’ve always hosted a mini film festival during our convention,” said film festival director Loyd Cryer. “Recent Texas Frightmare Weekends have begun with theatrical screenings of Night of the Living Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so adding two additional nights of theatrical screenings is a natural progression.”

The centerpiece selection of TFW Film Festival 2010 is Survival of the Dead — the sixth film in George A. Romero’s 40-year zombie odyssey. More than a dozen official selections, to be announced shortly, will be showcased nightly 6:30 p.m. through midnight. Texas filmmaker Parrish Randall will emcee.
