“Dark Shadows” to begin production in 2010
December 8th, 2009 by admin received No Comments »According to SciFi Wire, Graham King, the co-producer of Johnny Depp’s Dark Shadows project, has confirmed that production will begin on the film film next September/October with the assistance of director Tim Burton (of course!). Along with screenwriter John August, who is currently at work on revising the script for Dark Shadows, Burton has announced that DS will be his next major venture after the release of the current Disney 3-D masterpiece Alice in Wonderland.
Also in vampire film news…according to Vampire Cafe, Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment and Summit Entertainment, along with co-producer Dede Gardner, have paired to make a new re-imagining of Dracula titled Vlad. Vlad centers on Dracula as a young prince; he is known to history as Vlad the Impaler, the man behind the Dracula myth. The script was written by actor Charlie Hunnam. Music video director and photographer Anthony Mandler is currently in talks to direct the project. According to an article on the The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Mandler’s reel impressed the execs at the company, ensuring the creation of Vlad. With this new vampire film, Summit Entertainment hopes to make a “visually edgy and radical period movie that also will break a new talent.”
Now…if I could only somehow get the script for Eternal Vigilance into Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp’s hands…Hmmm… Suggestions anyone?
