Announcements concerning the 8th annual Portland Vampire Masquerade Ball were made this week. The event will take place on the weekend of Saturday, March 27th 2010 at the elegant Melody Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. Other details included in the announcement were as follows:
• New website is still under development and will be launched in early December, another announcement will be made the day it’s unveiled. And yes, it will have an up-to-date gallery link with photo’s (and video) from every VMB with the exception of the first two years as those files seemed to have gone MIA when my hard drive crashed. www.vampireballpdx.com
• Tickets go on sale 1/1/10. Pricing, information, etc will be on the new site
• The cellist Adam Hurst is returning again for 2010 and has already begun composing the next Waltz at Midnight which will be performed with accompaniment.
• The Meet & Greet in 2010 will not be a big production like it was in 2009. Instead it will be a casual evening held at a regular club/bar (to be announced) that will give out-of-towners the opportunity to relax and have a drink with some of the locals the night before the big event.
• Yes, there will be a Facebook account soon. To be announced in December.
• The 2010 VMB is again being sponsored by www.badattitude.com. Former Portland resident who now resides in Las Vegas and knows a thing or two about corsets.
