5 Questions, 5 Authors: Jane Timm Baxter

February 19th, 2008 by Gabrielle Faust received No Comments »

Jane Timm Baxter

Jane Timm Baxter, author or the vampire novel The Renegade and the dark poetry collection, Awaiting Fullness, lives with her husband in rural Georgia. She occasionally gets a stray cow in her back yard. She spoils her pets rotten, and would most likely do the same with a child. She is odd and knows it, and more importantly, she relishes in it…

1. What drives you to write?

My fear of insanity. Seriously, when I go too long without writing, my anxiety and depression soars. Writing seems to be the only thing that keeps my mental health in check!

2. What do you consider to be your most significant accomplishment?

As far as writing goes, I think just getting published is my most significant accomplish thus far. I am hoping that every year brings a significant accomplishment, and that I continue to grow and evolve as a writer.

3. Outside of writing, what are your other passions/interests?

My other interests and passions include art and music. I’m not a singer by any means, but I love to listen to music. I would have to say my most important passions involve my family and seeking out my personal spiritual path.

4. What is your advice to young writers/first time authors?

Do not despair over rejection! Keep going, and write what you feel. Since I write primarily horror and horror related genres, I would have to say for “new” writers to write what scares *them.* As my husband calls it, “bleed on the pages.”

5. What do you want the world to remember you for the most?

Hmmm… this is a tough one, actually. I think I want the world to remember me as an individual, who had her own mind and walked her own path. If they happen to remember me for my writing, too, that would be gravy!
