Now that the undead have scattered back to their respective covens around the world to sink into their “normal lives”, it’s time to begin dreaming of the next great gathering in New Orleans! The 2010 theme for the Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club’s annual vampire masquerade ball has been announced! The divine coordinators posted this statement on their MySpace blog today:
Details on next year’s grand Coven Ball will be made available over the next few months. We can tell you now though, before it hits the interwebs in documentary form, that the theme for next year is RESURRECTION. Specifically, MEMNOCH. The only time that MEMNOCH has been recognized was at the 1995 Coven Ball hosted by Anne at St. Elizabeth’s. It is our hope to rekindle the spirit of that devil as we knew and loved it back then! For those of you who were lucky enough to attend the legendary Memnoch Ball in 1995 we encourage you to wear a variation of the same costume you wore then. For those who were not able to attend the first time we encourage you to come dressed in the costume you always wanted to wear to it!
I don’t know about you, but I can’t be more thrilled! MEMNOCH is one of my absolute favorites of The Vampire Chronicles and my mind is already spinning with the limitless possibilities for costumes! Be sure to keep an eye out here on the EV site for forthcoming details as I will be posting them as they are released. This year 999 of the 1000 available tickets were sold so be sure to purchase yours in advance since this event is more than likely to sell out next year, growing exponentially as word of its fabulosity spreads throughout the underworld! For more information about this year’s event, as well as info on how you can become a member of the Vampire Lestat Fan Club, visit www.vampirelestatfanclub.com.
