Earlier this week I mentioned the news of how, despite the massive failure of the sequel to the hit 1980’s vampire flick Lost Boys, Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, Corey Feldman has announced his intentions to go ahead with yet another version of the LB tale, Lost Boys 3: The Bite. Now, according to Dread Central, Warner Brothers has decided to look a bit further into their dime store plastic magic 8-ball to predict yet another wretched film which will be the fourth in the franchise! Apparently WB is prescribing to the theory that if a film is so incredibly bad it might actually make the 180 degree turn back to cult status…but in this case LB2 was as far from cult status as culturally possible and WB still hasn’t received the memo. I shake my head and place my face in my hands in absolute despair.
Corey Haim, who will also be returning to his original role, spoke with Movie Web about his participation in the film. Apparently he was not entirely happy with the direction the second film took (imagine that!) and, thus, he require certain stipulations with his his rejoining the cast. He also demanded a degree of say over the character’s “personal arc this fourth time around”.
Personal arc? Is Haim truly expecting that kind of depth out of the fourth installation? Ah, so sad…
