A successful first “Blood of the Bean” event!

October 18th, 2009 by admin received No Comments »

Hello my Darklings! I have been going through absolute technology withdrawal since my internet was down for two whole days! Ah, the agony! However, I am back today! *does happy dance with the bats*

I want to say a massive gushing THANK YOU to everyone who attended yesterday’s inaugural Blood of the Bean group horror reading at Kick Butt Coffee in Austin, Texas! Though we were up against the odds of one of the first spectacularly beautiful days outside and the rivaling frenzy for the UT vs. OU game plaguing the city’s denizens, we still had a decent sized crowd. Lee Thomas, Brian Moreland, Ethan Nahte, Kenneth M. Hoover, Joe McKinney and Boyd and Stacy from Cutting Block Press (as well as myself) brought their best reading performances to the coffee shop’s stage with a variety of material from vampires to escaped lunatics from the Old West. Unfortunately Steven Wedel and Byron Starr were unable to make it. Everyone was in high spirits and we closed out the day ready to do it all again in 2010. So, you can be sure that I will be organizing yet another Blood of the Bean event next year! Here are a few pictures:
