Underworld 4…in 3D?
August 9th, 2009 by Gabrielle Faust received No Comments »Dread Central confirmed today that Underworld 4 is finally moving towards the pre-production phase of development! The most recent installment of the Underworld franchise, Rise of the Lycans, was overwhelmingly successful and might possibly be considered the best film of the initial three released. Now, the Underworld creators are out to raise the bar, yet again! According to Dread Central:
The word came down earlier this evening from STYD that, indeed, a possible second sequel to the original Underworld — or perhaps a sequel to the prequel, Rise of the Lycans — is under way with a targeted premiere in January, 2011. And that’s not all. It’s going to be … in 3D!
Personally, I could do without the 3D aspect. It seems that it is the latest craze for film executives to tack on this special effect, but in essence, does it really improve upon the film itself? There is no confirmation of who the stars of the new installment will be, Beckinsale or Mitra, Speedman or Sheen, and a director is not yet attached to the project.
