It appears that the weekend of August 14 through the 16th is going to be a busy one for conventions! Whether you’re down here in Austin, Texas for Armadillocon, where I’ll be setting up shop for the weekend, or out in L.A., California for Vampire-Con or up in Elizabeth, NJ for the Dark Shadows Festival, there will be a fantastic convention to check out no matter what section of the country you’re in! I’ve posted information so far on Armadillcon and Vampire-Con, but the Dark Shadows Festival is news to me and it sounds awesome!


The official Dark Shadows convention has been held annually since 1983 at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel. Jonathan Frid, “Barnabas Collins” himself, is the Guest of Honor at the event. Special guests include Lara Parker (“Angelique”), John Karlen (“Willie Loomis”), Kathryn Leigh Scott )”Maggie Evans”), Marie Wallace (“Eve”), Donna Wandrey (“Roxanne Drew”) and others.
