The wait is nearly over! The first season of one of my absolute favorite vampire television shows is being released on DVD! When BLOOD TIES was originally canceled, millions of devoted fans did their best to campaign for its return, to no avail. For some reason, even though the show had an extremely dedicated following, the Lifetime network decided not to renew the show for another season. Eagle Rock Entertainment has now acquired the rights for the DVD release of the first season, which I’m more than certain will delight BLOOD TIES fans around the world! Who knows, perhaps this will be the push the show needed to reignite enthusiasm for it enough for another network to pick it up. Hello, SciFi Channel!? You did it with MOONLIGHT…why not BLOOD TIES?


Season 1 of BLOOD TIES will be officially available on June 2 (Retail Sales Price $26.99, Currently available for pre-order on Amazon: click here). According to the News Blaze site: This impressive 4-DVD set features the original 13 episodes of the series. Bonus material includes a behind-the-scenes documentary and trailer. Blood Ties is based on the book series written by Tanya Huff, which is currently in its 17th printing. Touted as “A Crime Series, With Bite”, Blood Ties follows the wild success of other vampire dramas, such as Twilight and True Blood. Blood Ties is not your typical crime drama, and the release of this 4DVD set is the perfect opportunity for the rabid vampire fans to sink their teeth into a captivating and engaging drama.
