‘Eastwick’ witches TV show?
March 12th, 2009 by Gabrielle Faust received 4 Comments »I was fairly unsettled when I read today on Bloody Disgusting that NBC is casting for a new television pilot entitled Eastwick. This new series will follow three young female witches as they come into their powers and will be based off of the 1987 classic The Witches of Eastwick. Again, I’ll say it and I’ll say it loudly…HOLLYWOOD HAS RUN OUT OF NEW IDEAS! Not only is this a regurgitation of the famous campy television show Charmed by having the story focus around three witches coming into their powers, but NBC is even ripping off themselves by, according to Bloody Disgusting, having Eastwick have the same premise as their soon to be cancelled show Lipstick Jungle with the women being powerful businesswomen! And to have the gall to even touch a classic like The Witches of Eastwick is blasphemy! But, how soon I forget! This is Hollywood and NOTHING is sacred. If Eastwick actually makes it past its first few episodes I will be utterly, completely stunned. History is quick to show us that pathetic attempts to capitalize on already overly done concepts usually end in a quick retreat to oblivion to be forgotten…

let’s think for a sec. you say eastwick is going to be a rip off of charmed, but wouldn’t charmed be a rip off of the witches of eastwick which is what this tv show is going to be a spin off of? so you basically just contradicted your self.
No, Charmed and Eastwick are a rip off of Witches of Eastwick.
no because charmed took the idea first and didnt make it tacky!! and charmed lasted 8 whole seasons, id be surprised if eastwick survives 5 episodes.
yeah but considering that eastwick IS based off the witches of eastwick, its pretty retarded to be even mentioning that its a rip off of charmed as well. Charmed was a great show, and eastwick looks like itll be good too, so stop complaining
